The Family Zone

Recommended by the Department of Life Long Faith Formation of the Diocese of Buffalo, the following websites are good resources for exploring and discussing faith at home. These links are for the Feast of the Holy Family, but you can go to these sites weekly:

I recently had to watch mass on tv due to a sore throat. It’s difficult. So easy to reach for a cup of coffee. I don’t have satellite TV, and no cable yet on my road, so mobile WiFi data it is. The data must be rationed out carefully for work and school and occasional streamed tv programs or movies. We watched on the small phone screen this time, squinting at times. Not always actively standing or kneeling or we wouldn’t be able to see or hear. I get it. It’s not the same as ‘going to church’. The interactive Worship-at-Home from Pastoral Center may not fit your family’s age demographic. I get it. The live broadcast of Sunday mass at Our Lady of Victory Basilica may not fit the best time frame for your family. I get it. But we have to keep trying. Keep finding ways to honor the Lord’s day in any way you and your family can. Discuss the main message of the gospel on Sunday. Find ways to teach your children to choose to do the next right thing in everything they do, by following the Way of Jesus.
