What Do You Want to Know About the Catholic Mass?

Intro to the Catholic Mass

SS J&A Faith Formation Theme 2021

BEFORE you and your family watch the short video clip called The Veil Removed, discuss and write down a few things your children already KNOW about our Catholic mass on the chart below, in the first column. In the second column, write some things they WONDER or would like to know more about. AFTER the video clip, add more to the WONDER column, or write anything they LEARNED in the last column. Keep this list, and add to the LEARNED column as our faith formation progresses in 2021. As FAMILY HOMEWORK, please reply via FLOCKNOTE, where you may choose to reply privately or to our faith formation group, with your WONDER QUESTIONS for Father George.

Please review the video before showing your children. It may be most appropriate for ages 10 and up.

Click on the link above or go to https://theveilremoved.com/watch/.

An alternative, animated clip for children can be found at this link from Dynamic Catholic:

Consider picking up a missalette during mass, and helping your child follow along, page by page with the different parts and songs of the mass as best you can. Notice the Eucharistic prayers the priest reads are not always recited word for word as printed in the missalette. Hmm, that might be a good question for Father George...he is ready and waiting for your questions!

Peace and Blessings to you all. Hold those Blessed children tight. Thank you for prioritizing your family's faith and teaching your children well, including our prayers, Our Father and Hail Mary.

Remember this one?

Prayer to Your Guardian Angel

Angel of God,

My Guardian dear,

to whom God's love commits me here.

Ever this day (night) be at my side,

to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Amen.
