What? There Was Homework? Due May 5th

Thank you for all the help at the outdoor mass last Saturday! You certainly “Glorify the Lord by your life!” Including moving those picnic tables! We'll be having outdoor masses each month this summer. If you could continue to help with moving those picnic tables we would appreciate it!

In the last take home packet, there is HOMEWORK, titled Praise To You Lord Jesus Christ. Read over ONE of the Sunday gospel readings from the last 3 weeks with your child(ren), The Road to Emmaus, Luke 24:35-48; The Good Shepherd, John 10:11-18; or Vine and Branches, John 15:1-8, and have them answer these questions about one of the readings:

What did Jesus do in this Gospel reading?

What did Jesus say in this Gospel reading?

What is Jesus inspiring me to say and do in this Gospel reading?

Why should I praise Jesus Christ after hearing this Gospel reading?

Please write on the worksheet which reading you chose.

The downloadable worksheet can be found in the Apr 16 "Marshmallow" blog. See you May 5th at 6:30 when we will explore different types of prayer.

May 16th – 11 am Family/ Youth Mass and “Raising Up Day” reception and Family Formation in the aud.

From last week's bulletin:

What is Prayer and what does it do for us?

Prayer is listening and talking to God. When we participate in the Catholic tradition of prayer and pray in order to deepen our knowledge of God’s presence in our lives, we become better moral people and grow in our faith.

But wait, there’s more! There are many types of prayer, both formal and informal, memorized and spontaneous, private and public, meditative and contemplative. The whole mass is prayer. Songs, hymns, and psalms are prayers. We pray with scripture, The Prayer Process or The Examen. We’ll explore a few of these next youth night.

Reflection question for the 8th-10th graders: One of the Most Important Things for youth to get out of faith formation is that developing a daily prayer relationship with Jesus is vital for their faith journey. How do you feel you could improve your prayer life and make your faith experience more meaningful?
